Turn the Find My App On / Off

Turning the Find My app on or off gives you control over your location tracking. This is useful for security, privacy or if you ever need to locate your Apple® iPhone® if it's lost.

Before you begin

To turn off the Find My app, ensure Stolen Device Protection is turned off and your iPhone is connected to a Cellular Data or Wi-Fi network. Without a connection, the app is turned off on the device but not from Apple's servers.
If you are unable to access the iPhone or it's unresponsive, the Find My app can be turned off online via iCloud®.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap the
    Apple profile
    .
  3. Navigate:
    Find My
    Find My iPhone
    .
  4. Tap the
    Find My iPhone switch
     to turn on or off.
  5. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password then tap
    Turn Off
    .
  6. If desired, tap the
    Send Last Location switch
     to turn on or off.
